Aurora Kazi Bassett

Aurora is an MCP candidate in the International Development Group. She previously worked in Zanzibar as a researcher for the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and for Hifadhi, a public-private partnership to preserve and continue mixed-use of the built heritage in the World Heritage site of Stone Town. Her research interests include open/green space in Africa’s rapidly growing cities, social and environmental justice, tourism/heritage/preservation and how old cities can grow and change and serve the people who have made them what they are.
