Meagan Cherita Patrick 

Meagan is a first year MCP candidate in the International Development Group. Prior to MIT, Meagan spent a year in Turkey as a Fulbright Scholar and three years as program coordinator for Academic Affairs at Columbia University School of Social Work. Her interest in displacement began while still a teenager, working in San Jose as a volunteer for the Costa Rican Humanitarian Foundation. Meagan holds a BA in Natural Science from New College of Florida, where she received grant funding for a joint physics and anthropology thesis “Water Purification in the Global South.” Her research interests include displacement in Latin America and the Middle East, water and sanitation conditions of informal settlements, international political economy, and dam-induced displacement.
