Dran global Displacement fellowship

The DRAN Global Displacement Fellowship, funded by MIT’s Social Impact ELO initiative, is an opportunity for MIT undergraduate students interested in critically examining displacement and land rights on a global scale.

The program has two components, a course in the spring semester followed by a full-time summer internship at a partner organization with a focus on displacement and human rights. Students take Planning Against Evictions and Displacement, taught by Professor Balakrishnan Rajagopal, to better grasp the research, policy, and legal context around global displacement. Over the summer, students participant in an eight week, full-time internship at a partner organization that they are matched with based on their experience and partner projects. The internships focus on displacement and land rights-related research, programs, and advocacy, and allow students to connect themes and issues from the course to the real-world context they work in.
